Young adult meet ups- ages 21-30 – young adults trying to cope and balance work, school, relationships, and life. Come meet peers who are also struggling and trying to find balance in a very stressful world. This will be a safe space to socialize, learn skills to cope with depression and anxiety, to meet new friends and to have some fun! Meet ups will be held monthly. Movement/Expressive Therapy

Dance Classes are taught by Brianna Luciano @levndriv (instagram)

This class is for kids who may be having a difficult time expressing themselves but enjoy music/dance. Come learn how to use movement as a self-expression.

No experience necessary. Come have fun with us.

What is Movement?

The Movement classes at GWS is meant to help you express yourself through movement. We strive for the experience of adaptability and freedom of movement. Fitness is not the focus of the practice, but rather a byproduct of the exploration. These classes do not require any training or experience but an open mind and a desire to find self-expression through the body.

Movement Classes

  • $20/class, Package $100/monthly (6 classes).
  • Classes are a maximum of 6 individuals per class.
  • You must register and pay for class in advance.
  • Please ask about our Therapeutic Group Movement Class (which may be covered by your insurance).

Movement/Dance classes By Brianna

This class will begin with slow stretching and light workout movement to both prepare and loosen our bodies. After this, about three to five moves will be taught for each session. Once everyone feels comfortable with each movement, we will combine all the movements learned creating a small choreography for you to take home. The movements taught will be inspired by a wide variety of music genres and more! For example, Grooves, Reggae, House, Breaking, Latin, Modern, etc. Come and experience this movement class with us. All classes are meant to incorporate positive body image and help you to express yourself.

Yoga

Yoga is a mind and body practice. Various styles of yoga combine physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation or relaxation. Yoga is an ancient practice that may have originated in India. It involves movement, meditation, and breathing techniques to promote mental and physical well-being.

Yoga Classes

  • Due to Covid we ask that you bring your own mat
  • We have some mats available for sale if needed
  • Pricing: $20/class per class
  • Monthly Package ($100/6 classes)
  • You must register for class
  • Only six individuals to a class
  • Payment and Yoga consent from must be completed prior to class

Class Etiquette

For the benefit of all, we ask you to please observe the following during yoga class:

  • Wear comfortable clothing
  • Plan to be at class 5 minutes before its starts
  • Turn off your cell phone
  • Keep talking to a minimum as many students engage in pre-class meditation
  • Refrain from eating a heavy meal prior to class
  • Let instructor know if you have an injury
  • Listen to your body-don’t push yourself too far or compare yourself to others
  • Enjoy your practice!

Who We Are

We are a private psychotherapy practice that offers counseling services, meditation sessions, movement classes, yoga classes, and educational classes to children, teens, adults, and couples. We believe in taking a holistic approach to help our clients towards their growth wellness journey.

Meet Our Founder and Therapist

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who have been working in the field of Behavioral Health for the past 24 years. I am a graduate of New York University. I also completed psychoanalytical training from New York school of Psychoanalysis. I have completed trainings in (mindfulness-based stress reduction, Expressive therapies such as “song tapestry, play therapy, movement in psychotherapy, and trauma informed care”. I have worked with a wide array of clients (children, adolescents, adults, individuals coping with grief and loss, trauma, LGBTQ issues, and individuals coping with medical issues. I believe in being creative in therapy and using various modalities to assist individuals to meet their wellness goals.

Our Services

Dance Classes

The Movement classes at GWS is meant to help you express yourself through movement. We strive for the experience of adaptability and freedom of movement. Fitness is not the focus of the practice, but rather a byproduct of the exploration.

Massage

A classic massage that reduces stress and induces relaxation. It’s guaranteed to aid in circulation and reduce fatigue. Helps pain management, increases blood flow, rehabilitation for muscle injuries, increases flexibility and improves immune system. Anywhere from light to medium pressure

Meditation

Mindfulness-based stress reduction offers secular, intensive mindfulness training to assist people with stress, anxiety, depression, and pain. Meditation classes will consist of meditation with some processing.

Mommy and Me Class

The class will introduce children to self and social awareness skills. Focusing on foundational skills such as fine & gross motor skills, colors, shapes, numbers recognition, etc. There will be huge emphasis on “emotional” awareness and receptive and expressive language development.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy, or talk therapy, is a way to help people with a broad variety of mental illnesses and emotional difficulties. Psychotherapy can help eliminate or control troubling symptoms so a person can function better and can increase well-being and healing.
